Vietnam’s education CPI records further decline in November

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) for education in Vietnam fell by 0.27 percent in November compared to October, bringing the total decline to 0.81 percent, according to Vietnam’s General Statistics Office. This marks a continuation of the sector’s decreasing trend, with October’s CPI recorded at -0.54 percent.

Earlier in the year, education CPI showed notable fluctuations. September saw a slight rise of 1.21 percent, while August experienced a substantial increase of 7.13 percent. Mid-year figures peaked, with July and June reporting 8.00 percent and 8.01 percent, respectively, reflecting seasonal adjustments linked to the academic calendar.

The decline in recent months highlights stabilising education-related costs following the start of the school year. These trends are shaped by tuition fee adjustments, enrolment patterns, and government policies aimed at regulating education expenses.
