Vietnam’s corn imports drop 50.43 percent in February 2025

Vietnam’s corn imports fell sharply by 50.43 percent month-on-month in February, reaching US$123.80 million, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. This brings total year-to-date imports to US$373.73 million.

Brazil remained Vietnam’s largest corn supplier, accounting for 64.70 percent of total imports at US$80.10 million, though this figure represents a 45.31 percent decline from January. Argentina followed with a more significant drop of 59.69 percent, totaling US$39.61 million and making up 31.99 percent of Vietnam’s total corn imports.

Imports from Laos declined by 12.46 percent to US$2.98 million, while Thailand saw a 10.07 percent decrease to US$354,180. Meanwhile, Vietnam did not import any corn from India in February, marking a complete drop from the previous month.

The significant decline in overall corn imports suggests shifting demand or supply chain adjustments in Vietnam’s agricultural sector.
