Vietnam’s consumer electronics production sees robust growth in 2024

Vietnam’s production of consumer electronics products increased by 6.1 percent in December 2024 compared to November 2024, according to Vietnam’s Industrial Production Index.

Year-on-year, the sector posted a strong growth of 16.1 percent in December 2024 compared to December 2023. For the full year of 2024, cumulative growth reached 10.8 percent compared to 2023, underscoring the sector’s robust performance.

The December growth reflects heightened production activity during the holiday season, driven by strong consumer demand domestically and internationally. The year-on-year and annual growth highlight Vietnam’s increasing role as a global hub for manufacturing consumer electronics such as smartphones, home appliances, and entertainment systems.

Vietnam’s consumer electronics industry is a key driver of its export economy, supported by foreign direct investment from global technology giants and a skilled workforce. The impressive growth in 2024 cements Vietnam’s position as a critical player in the global consumer electronics supply chain.
