Vietnam’s clinker and cement exports dip sharply in November

Vietnam’s clinker and cement exports in November 2024 dropped to US$82.79 million, reflecting a 22.9 percent decline compared to October, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. Year-to-date exports amounted to US$1.05 billion, showcasing steady demand despite recent setbacks.

The Philippines remained the largest market, with imports of US$33.87 million, a slight 3.03 percent increase month-on-month. Bangladesh recorded a notable decline of 13.18 percent, with imports valued at US$8.65 million. Other key markets such as Malaysia and Taiwan experienced substantial drops of 32.39 percent and 30.30 percent, respectively. In contrast, Laos saw a remarkable increase of 48.10 percent, albeit from a smaller base.

The data indicates varying market dynamics, with some regions showing resilience while others face significant downturns, underlining the need for diversified export strategies in this sector.
