Vietnam’s chemical product imports increased by 6.87 percent month-on-month in February, reaching US$578.89 million, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. This follows January’s total of US$541.67 million, reflecting steady growth in chemical imports.
Year-to-date, total chemical product imports have reached US$1.12 billion, with China remaining the dominant supplier. Imports from China accounted for 35.63 percent of the total but declined by 16.51 percent month-on-month. In contrast, imports from South Korea, Japan, and Taiwan rose by 20.47 percent, 36.39 percent, and 8.98 percent, respectively.
Germany recorded the highest growth among major suppliers, with imports surging by 71.39 percent, while imports from Italy dropped by 35.40 percent. Canada and Switzerland also saw notable increases of 321.74 percent and 93.47 percent, respectively.
