Vietnam’s beverage production grows moderately in December 2024

Vietnam’s beverage production rose by 4.9 percent in December 2024 compared to November 2024, according to Vietnam’s Industrial Production Index.

Year-on-year, the sector expanded by 5.9 percent in December 2024 compared to December 2023. Over the full year of 2024, cumulative growth was recorded at 1.4 percent compared to 2023, reflecting moderate overall progress.

The monthly growth in December highlights increased production activity driven by heightened demand during the holiday season. However, the modest annual growth indicates challenges such as fluctuating raw material costs, shifting consumer preferences, and intensified competition in the domestic beverage market.

Vietnam’s beverage industry is a vital contributor to the economy, producing a wide array of products from traditional beverages to modern energy drinks and alcoholic beverages. The sector benefits from rising domestic consumption and export potential, supported by investments in manufacturing technology and marketing strategies.

While December’s growth offers positive momentum, the sector’s annual performance underscores the need for continued adaptation to market demands.
