Vietnam’s arts, entertainment, and recreation sector has been growing rapidly, driven by the country’s dynamic cultural heritage, increasing urbanisation, and rising disposable incomes. This sector includes activities such as live performances, film production, art exhibitions, sports facilities, theme parks, and gaming centres. The growth is further supported by Vietnam’s young and tech-savvy population, which drives demand for both traditional and modern entertainment services.
Foreign direct investment (FDI) in the sector has been increasing, with contributions from countries like South Korea, Japan, and Singapore. Investments are concentrated in areas such as cinema chains, theme parks, gaming platforms, and event management services. Prominent international brands like CGV and Lotte Cinema have established significant presences, while domestic enterprises are also expanding to meet growing demand.
Tourism plays a significant role in shaping the sector, with many entertainment projects catering to international visitors, including cultural shows, water parks, and resorts with recreational facilities. As Vietnam continues to invest in urban development and tourism infrastructure, the arts, entertainment, and recreation sector is expected to expand further. There is also a growing emphasis on digital entertainment, such as e-sports, online gaming, and streaming platforms, reflecting global trends and providing new opportunities for both domestic and foreign investors.
