The Industrial Production Index (IPI) for processing and preserving aquatic products rose by 3.25 percent in November compared to October, according to Vietnam’s General Statistics Office. This reflects increasing activity in one of Vietnam’s key export industries.
Year-on-year, the sector saw substantial growth of 15.53 percent in November 2024 compared to the same month in 2023. Over the first 11 months of 2024, the IPI for this sector increased by 9.72 percent compared to the same period last year, highlighting its strong performance in driving industrial growth.
This robust expansion can be attributed to rising global demand for Vietnamese seafood and advancements in processing and preservation technologies. The industry also benefits from Vietnam’s extensive coastline and abundant aquatic resources, positioning it as a global leader in seafood exports.
