Vietnam’s animal feed and aquatic products production records December jump

Vietnam’s production of animal feed, poultry, and aquatic products increased by 2.2 percent in December compared to November, according to Vietnam’s Industrial Production Index.

Year-on-year, the sector expanded by 7.2 percent in December compared to December 2023. For the full year of 2024, cumulative growth reached 5.2 percent compared to 2023, reflecting a steady upward trend in this critical industry.

The December month-on-month growth indicates increased activity to meet seasonal demand and rising export requirements. Year-on-year performance highlights stronger production levels driven by the growing domestic consumption of poultry and fish and heightened global demand for animal feed exports.

The animal feed and aquatic product industries play a vital role in Vietnam’s agro-industrial economy. With Vietnam being a major seafood exporter and an increasingly significant poultry producer, this sector benefits from modernised farming practices and advancements in feed production technologies.

The consistent growth in 2024 reflects the industry’s resilience and its critical role in supporting Vietnam’s agricultural exports and food security.
