Dau Tu Kien Thuc is reporting that the Hanoi People’s Committee has ordered reviews of 341 delayed projects, requiring investors to submit reports by April 30 or risk suspension or revocation of their projects.

Roadmap for shifting flights from old to new airport HCMC
Tuoi Tre is reporting that Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) has proposed that from December 1, 2026, most international flights shift from Tan Son Nhat International Airport to Long Thanh International Airport.
ACV said by 2027 Long Thanh could handle over 90 percent of Ho Chi Minh City international passengers, with Tan Son Nhat focusing on domestic and limited international services. View source→

Construction materials mining violations
Nha Dau Tu is reporting that the Government Inspectorate of Vietnam identified widespread violations in the management, licensing, and extraction of construction materials across northern provinces, including Phu Tho, Hai Duong, and Bac Giang.

Korea-Japan thermal power plant project online
Vietnam Plus is reporting that the Vung Ang II Thermal Power Plant, a US$2.2 billion Japan–South Korea-backed project, has been inaugurated in Ha Tinh, marking the start of operations for the 1,200 megawatt coal-fired facility.
Developed under a build-operate-transfer model, the project is led by Mitsubishi Corporation with a 60 percent stake and Korea Electric Power Corporation holding 40 percent.

Singapore energy firm signs VN gas deal

Huawei SHB cooperation agreement

Gold association wants gold loans for jewellery makers
Nguoi Lao Dong is reporting that the Vietnam Gold Traders Association has proposed allowing businesses to borrow gold from the public at negotiated interest rates to support jewellery production.
It warned that without legal guidance, activities such as buying or borrowing gold from individuals carry legal risks, with some firms already facing penalties. View source→

Lawmakers call for private sector support law
VnExpress is reporting that Pham Trong Nhan, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Labour Federation, has called for a dedicated law to support private sector development.
He has proposed a law that ensures equal access to resources, stronger property rights and a stable, predictable legal environment to reduce risks from policy changes. View source→

18-year-old unfinished housing project referred to MPS
Dau Tu Kien Thuc is reporting that the Government Inspectorate has uncovered major violations at the Usilk City project in Hanoi and referred the case to the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) for investigation.
The VND 10,000 billion (US$380 million) development, led by Song Da Thang Long Joint Stock Company, raised VND 8,456 billion (US$321 million) from homebuyers and investors but diverted VND 5,302 billion (US$201 million) to other uses.
The misuse of funds left the project stalled for over a decade, with more than 750 apartments undelivered and widespread legal disputes with buyers. View source→
