Vietnam’s exports to Pakistan reached US$67.64 million in August 2025, up 4.4 percent from US$64.77 million in July, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
Year-to-date exports stood at US$395.97 million.
Telephones remained the largest export item at US$17.33 million, though down slightly by 2.1 percent month-on-month.
Other products totalled US$15 million, a 7.2 percent decline.
Tea exports rose 11 percent to US$12.58 million, while cashew nuts surged 121 percent to US$5.63 million.
Yarn shipments fell 8.1 percent to US$5.56 million, and pepper dropped 31.5 percent to US$3.11 million.
Rubber increased 13.2 percent to US$2.31 million, while machinery rose 14.2 percent to US$1.75 million.
Fishery exports jumped 52.5 percent to US$1.38 million, and transport parts grew 18.6 percent to just over US$1 million.
Chemical products slipped 6.9 percent to US$959,000.
Iron and steel products, though small in value, spiked nearly 15-fold to US$904,000.
The August data highlights Pakistan’s growing role as a market for Vietnam’s tea and cashew exports, alongside steady demand for telephones and yarn.
Vietnam–Pakistan trade has developed steadily in recent years, supported by growing demand in both markets and complementary strengths in goods exchange.
Vietnam mainly exports textiles, machinery, chemicals, tea, coffee, and seafood to Pakistan, while importing cotton, yarn, leather, and assorted agricultural products.
The relationship has benefited from direct business forums, trade promotion activities, and stronger private-sector links, though overall trade remains below potential compared to other partners.
Logistics costs, limited market awareness, and regulatory differences have been obstacles, but both sides see opportunities in diversifying trade baskets and expanding cooperation in textiles, agriculture, and manufacturing.
The partnership reflects broader efforts by both governments to strengthen South–South economic ties and make use of each other’s strategic locations in Southeast Asia and South Asia.
