Vietnam welcomed 2.05 million tourists from Asia in March 2025, up 8 percent from February, according to data from Vietnam’s General Department of Tourism data. For the first quarter, tourist arrivals from Asia reached 4.71 million, marking a 34 percent increase compared to the same period in 2024 and a significant boost for Vietnam’s tourism industry.
Country highlights:
- China remained the top source market with 630,898 visitors in March, up 66 percent compared to the previous year.
- South Korea saw a sharp month-on-month decline of 20 percent, with arrivals dropping to 374,989, though the year-to-date total remains steady.
- Cambodia recorded the most dramatic growth, up 119 percent month-on-month and 165 percent year-on-year.
- India, the Philippines, and Thailand also posted notable monthly gains.
- In contrast, Other Asia and Malaysia saw steep month-on-month declines, down 41 percent and 37 percent, respectively.
