The VN-Index closed marginally higher on September 23 at 1,635.26 points, up 0.05 percent, supported by gains in banking and financial stocks, according to data from the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange → view source.
Trading value across the market reached VND 23.23 trillion or about US$894 million, with liquidity driven by large-cap names.
The VN30 basket advanced 0.10 percent to 1,821.45 points, while mid-cap and small-cap stocks lost ground.
Sector indices showed notable divergence: energy rose 1.32 percent, consumer discretionary gained 0.89 percent, and healthcare climbed 0.64 percent, whereas information technology fell 1.57 percent and industrials dropped 1.46 percent.
Total matched orders accounted for 712.8 million shares worth VND 18.73 trillion, while negotiated deals contributed another VND 4.64 trillion.
Foreign investors were net sellers, purchasing VND 2.67 trillion and selling VND 2.69 trillion, for a small net outflow of VND 18 billion or US$0.7 million.
