Currency: Vietnam dong steady as black market spread widens, SBV injects liquidity, Tuesday
The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) maintained its central exchange rate at VND 25,189 per US dollar for the second consecutive day on September 23, amid mounting pressure in unofficial currency markets.

Exports: Vietnam exports to Sri Lanka steady in August with gains in textiles but weaker rubber, yarn
Vietnam exported US$23.21 million worth of goods to Sri Lanka in August, down 1.24 percent from US$23.50 million in July, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. Year-to-date exports stood at US$186.61 million.
Trade: Vietnam exports to Sweden dip in August on weaker textiles and machinery shipments
Vietnam exported US$108.71 million worth of goods to Sweden in August, down 8.89 percent from US$119.33 million in July, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. Year-to-date exports stood at US$854.41 million.
Waste: Vietnam ferrous scrap imports edge up in August on stronger flows from Japan and USA
Vietnam imported US$169.52 million of ferrous waste and scrap in August, up 2.95 percent from US$164.65 million in July, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. Year-to-date imports stood at US$1.31 billion.
Energy: Vietnam LPG imports rise 10.36 percent in August amid changing supplier mix
Vietnam imported US$191.34 million of liquefied petroleum gases (LPG) in August, up from US$173.38 million in July, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. Year-to-date imports reached US$1.35 billion, reflecting steady growth in demand but with significant shifts in supply sources.
