Vietnam welcomed 46,055 tourists from Singapore in December, an increase of 10,648 visitors compared to November, reflecting a robust month-on-month growth of 30.07 percent, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Tourism. Singaporean arrivals reached 347,495 in 2024, representing a modest 5.9 percent increase compared to the previous year.
Singaporean tourists are primarily attracted to Vietnam’s vibrant urban centres, such as Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, known for their cultural landmarks, bustling markets, and diverse dining options. Beach destinations like Da Nang, Nha Trang, and Phu Quoc are also popular for short getaways. Shopping and nightlife are major draws, with many Singaporean visitors enjoying Vietnam’s affordability.
Singaporean travellers often favour short trips, with direct flights and visa-free entry making Vietnam a convenient destination. Airlines such as Vietnam Airlines, Singapore Airlines, and VietJet Air operate frequent flights between Singapore and major Vietnamese cities, facilitating the steady flow of visitors.
December’s sharp growth may also reflect increased travel during the holiday season and promotional campaigns targeting ASEAN markets. Singaporean tourists display a preference for modern accommodations, guided tours, and culinary experiences, making Vietnam an appealing choice for both leisure and business travel.
As one of Vietnam’s key ASEAN markets, Singaporean tourism continues to grow steadily, supported by strong connectivity and shared cultural and economic ties between the two nations.
