Vietnam’s exports of plastic products reached US$609.31 million in April 2025, according to figures released by Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. This represents a slight decrease of 3.57 percent compared to March, with a year-to-date (YTD) export value of US$2.32 billion.
USA remains the top export market despite a slight decrease:
The USA was the leading export market in April, with exports valued at US$293.12 million. This marks a slight decrease of 5.25 percent from March but still accounts for the largest share of the year-to-date exports at 47.96 percent.
Japan remains a key export market with a slight decrease:
Japan was the second-largest export market in April, with exports valued at US$62.70 million, a slight decrease of 5.52 percent from the previous month. Japan accounts for 10.80 percent of the year-to-date exports.
South Korea and India record moderate growth:
Exports to South Korea experienced an increase of 6.03 percent in April, reaching US$25.84 million. Exports to India also saw an increase of 7.37 percent, reaching US$25.31 million. These markets account for 3.96 percent and 4.03 percent of the year-to-date exports, respectively.
China records moderate growth:
Exports to China saw an increase of 7.07 percent in April, reaching US$16.07 million. China accounts for 2.47 percent of the year-to-date exports.
Significant month-on-month increases and decreases:
Bangladesh experienced the largest month-on-month increase at 55.92 percent, followed by Czech Republic and Russia. Conversely, New Zealand experienced the most significant decrease at 29.24 percent, followed by Cambodia and Thailand.
