Vietnam’s imports of pharmaceutical products reached US$334.74 million in April 2025, according to figures released by Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. This represents a slight decrease of 3.08 percent compared to March, with a year-to-date (YTD) import value of US$1.29 billion.
USA sees the largest growth to become a leading supplier:
The USA experienced the most significant increase in April, with imports valued at US$51.62 million, a surge of 109.10 percent from March. The USA is now the top single country supplier, accounting for 11.64 percent of the year-to-date imports.
Germany remains a key supplier despite a slight decrease:
Germany was the second-largest supplier in April, with imports valued at US$36.80 million, a decrease of 4.44 percent from the previous month. Germany accounts for 11.26 percent of the year-to-date imports.
Italy records substantial growth:
Imports from Italy saw a significant increase of 54.42 percent in April, reaching US$32.03 million. Italy accounts for 7.81 percent of the year-to-date imports.
India sees a minor decrease but remains a major supplier:
India was the fourth-largest supplier in April, with imports valued at US$24.77 million, a slight decrease of 3.98 percent from March. India accounts for 7.48 percent of the year-to-date imports.
Significant month-on-month increases and decreases:
Spain and Poland experienced the largest month-on-month increases at 221.19 percent and 222.13 percent, respectively, although their overall import values are lower. Japan and Russia also saw substantial rises. Conversely, Argentina and the Philippines experienced the most significant decreases as imports ceased entirely. Ireland, Belgium, and France also recorded substantial decreases.
