Cashew nut: Vietnam exports surge 28.60 percent in April, China sees massive growth

Vietnam’s exports of cashew nuts reached US$494.06 million in April 2025, according to figures released by Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. This represents a substantial increase of 28.60 percent compared to March, with a year-to-date (YTD) export value of US$1.33 billion.

China experiences extraordinary growth to become the top export market:

China emerged as the leading export market in April, with exports valued at US$149.11 million, an astounding increase of 129.79 percent from March. China now accounts for 19.39 percent of the total year-to-date exports.

USA remains a major export market despite a slight decrease:

The USA was the second-largest export market in April, with exports valued at US$92.06 million, a slight decrease of 1.90 percent from the previous month. The USA accounts for a significant 21.69 percent of the year-to-date exports.

Netherlands sees a minor decrease but remains a key market:

Exports to the Netherlands saw a marginal decrease of 2.15 percent in April, reaching US$33.96 million. The Netherlands accounts for 8.96 percent of the year-to-date exports.

UAE remains stable:

Exports to the UAE remained relatively stable with a slight increase of 0.18 percent, reaching US$17.77 million. The UAE accounts for 4.06 percent of the year-to-date exports.

Significant month-on-month increases and decreases:

Belgium experienced the largest month-on-month increase at 609.46 percent, followed by Pakistan and Israel. Conversely, Kazakhstan experienced the most significant decrease at 72.94 percent, followed by South Africa and India. Thailand also saw a substantial decrease.
