Vietnam’s imports of ores and other minerals reached US$334.55 million in April 2025, according to figures released by Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. This represents an increase of 8.63 percent compared to March, with a year-to-date (YTD) import value of US$1.08 billion.
Australia remains the top supplier with growth:
Australia was the leading supplier of ores and other minerals to Vietnam in April, with imports valued at US$159.27 million. This marks an increase of 9.78 percent from March and accounts for a significant 41.78 percent of the total year-to-date imports.
Brazil sees a decrease but remains a major supplier:
Brazil was the second-largest supplier in April, with imports valued at US$72.48 million, a decrease of 15.62 percent from the previous month. Brazil accounts for 28.32 percent of the year-to-date imports.
Thailand records a notable increase:
Imports from Thailand experienced a significant increase of 19.67 percent in April, reaching US$20.87 million. Thailand accounts for 4.68 percent of the year-to-date imports.
China sees a substantial rise:
Imports from China saw a considerable increase of 57.89 percent in April, reaching US$13.01 million, contributing 3.58 percent to the year-to-date total.
Significant month-on-month increases and decreases:
Singapore experienced the largest month-on-month increase at 751.56 percent, although its overall import value is lower. France and Turkey also saw substantial rises. Conversely, Myanmar experienced the most significant decrease as imports ceased entirely. Russia and Malaysia also recorded significant decreases.
