Vietnam’s imports of pastry, sweets, and cereal products reached US$47.08 million in April 2025, according to figures released by Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. This represents a decrease of 13.12 percent compared to March, with a year-to-date (YTD) import value of US$190.76 million.
China remains the top supplier despite a decrease:
China was the leading supplier of pastry, sweets, and cereal products to Vietnam in April, with imports valued at US$10.78 million. This marks a decrease of 14.00 percent from March but still accounts for a significant 24.68 percent of the total year-to-date imports.
USA sees an increase to become a major supplier:
The USA was the second-largest supplier in April, with imports valued at US$8.83 million, an increase of 13.58 percent from the previous month. The USA accounts for 11.67 percent of the year-to-date imports.
Indonesia experiences a significant decrease:
Imports from Indonesia saw a substantial decrease of 46.12 percent in April, falling to US$5.83 million. Indonesia accounts for 18.54 percent of the year-to-date imports.
Thailand sees a slight increase:
Imports from Thailand experienced a marginal increase of 2.56 percent in April, with a value of US$5.48 million. Thailand accounts for 10.28 percent of the year-to-date imports.
Significant month-on-month increases and decreases:
Belgium experienced the largest month-on-month increase at 46.05 percent, although its overall import value is lower. Germany also saw a notable rise. Conversely, the Philippines experienced the most significant decrease at 55.70 percent, followed by the Netherlands at 62.42 percent and Indonesia at 46.12 percent.
