Oceania tourist arrivals in Vietnam decline sharply in February

Vietnam recorded 41,464 tourist arrivals from Oceania in February, accounting for 2.2 percent of total international visitors, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Tourism. This marks a significant 42.6 percent decline from January, though the year-to-date total reached 113,707 visitors, making up 2.9 percent of overall arrivals.

Australia remained the dominant source, with 38,313 arrivals, down 42.39 percent from January. New Zealand also saw a sharp 45.91 percent drop, with 3,031 visitors. The “Other Oceania” category recorded 120 arrivals, reflecting an 11.11 percent decrease.

The decline in February may be attributed to seasonal travel trends, as many visitors from Australia and New Zealand typically travel during their summer holiday months. Despite this, Vietnam remains a popular destination for Oceania tourists seeking cultural experiences, beach resorts, and adventure travel.
