Vietnam’s exports of plastic products experienced a slight decrease in June 2025, reaching $622,781,193, a -4.14 percent decrease compared to May 2025 according to the latest data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
Despite this month-on-month decline, the year-to-date total for plastic product exports stood at a substantial $3,597,463,253.
In June 2025, the top five destinations by dollar value for Vietnam’s plastic product exports were:
USA
The USA maintained its position as the top destination in June, with export values reaching $319,134,991.
However, this represents a -8.43 percent month-on-month decrease from May.
The USA’s year-to-date total for these exports stands at $1,780,729,047, accounting for 49.50 percent of all YTD plastic product exports.
Japan
Japan followed as the second-largest destination, with June exports valued at $57,931,375.
This figure indicates a -2.50 percent month-on-month change.
Japan’s year-to-date total for these exports is $368,036,763, representing 10.23 percent of the total YTD plastic product exports.
India
India secured the third position in June with exports totaling $26,080,539.
Notably, India experienced a significant 16.90 percent month-on-month increase.
Its year-to-date contribution to Vietnam’s plastic product exports is $141,819,191, making up 3.94 percent of the total YTD exports.
South Korea
South Korea contributed $25,043,733 worth of plastic products in June.
South Korea experienced a 1.23 percent month-on-month increase.
South Korea’s year-to-date total for these exports is $141,661,449, accounting for 3.94 percent of the total YTD plastic product exports.
China
China rounded out the top five export destinations with $17,257,085 in June exports.
This country saw a 1.25 percent month-on-month increase.
China’s year-to-date total for these exports is $91,542,178, representing 2.54 percent of the total YTD exports for this category.
