Manioc : Vietnam exports down 18.90 percent in April, China top destination

Vietnam’s exports of manioc and manioc products reached US$112.88 million in April 2025, according to figures released by Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. This represents a significant decrease of 18.90 percent compared to March, with a year-to-date (YTD) export value of US$485.77 million.

China remains the top export market despite a substantial decrease:

China was the leading export market in April, with exports valued at US$105.07 million. This marks a significant decrease of 19.09 percent from March but still accounts for the vast majority of the year-to-date exports at 93.58 percent.

Taiwan sees moderate growth:

Exports to Taiwan experienced an increase of 14.41 percent in April, reaching US$2.26 million. Taiwan accounts for 1.46 percent of the year-to-date exports.

Philippines and Malaysia see significant decreases:

Exports to the Philippines saw a substantial decrease of 41.89 percent in April, falling to US$0.82 million. Similarly, exports to Malaysia decreased by 53.02 percent, reaching US$0.78 million.

Japan records extraordinary growth:

Exports to Japan experienced an extraordinary surge of 543.68 percent in April, reaching US$0.65 million. However, Japan’s overall contribution to the year-to-date exports remains small at 0.31 percent.

Significant month-on-month increases and decreases:

Japan experienced the largest month-on-month increase at 543.68 percent. Conversely, Malaysia experienced the most significant decrease at 53.02 percent, followed by Philippines and South Korea.
