Vietnam welcomed 35,407 tourists from Malaysia in November, showing a slight month-on-month decrease of 525 visitors or 1.46 percent, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Tourism.
Year-to-date, Malaysian arrivals reached 301,440, marking a 19.6 percent growth compared to the same period last year. Malaysia continues to be a key ASEAN market for Vietnam’s tourism industry, contributing steadily to its recovery.
Malaysian tourists are drawn to cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City for their vibrant urban experiences, historical landmarks, and shopping opportunities. Beach destinations such as Danang and Phu Quoc are also popular among Malaysian visitors seeking leisure and relaxation.
Direct flights operated by Vietnam Airlines, AirAsia, and Malaysia Airlines connect major Malaysian cities such as Kuala Lumpur and Penang to Vietnamese hubs. Affordable fares and frequent flights have been crucial in maintaining steady travel flow.
While November saw a minor decline, the overall performance reflects Vietnam’s strong appeal in the Malaysian market, offering opportunities for further growth through targeted promotions.
