Vietnam’s imports of insulated wires and cables reached US$395.67 million in April 2025, according to figures released by Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. This represents a 6.03 percent increase compared to the import value in March, with a year-to-date import value of US$1.39 billion for this category.
China is the dominant supplier with steady growth:
China was the leading supplier in April, with imports valued at US$275.98 million. This marks a 7.30 percent increase from March and accounts for a significant 68.14 percent of the total year-to-date imports.
South Korea remains a key supplier with growth:
Imports from South Korea experienced a 7.39 percent increase in April, reaching US$39.09 million. Their year-to-date contribution stands at 9.80 percent.
Japan sees a notable increase:
Imports from Japan rose by 8.26 percent in April, reaching US$13.89 million, contributing 3.45 percent to the year-to-date total.
Thailand experiences a decrease:
Imports from Thailand saw a decrease of 17.15 percent in April, falling to US$8.09 million. Thailand accounts for 2.70 percent of the year-to-date imports.
Significant month-on-month increases and decreases:
The Netherlands experienced the largest month-on-month increase at 425.87 percent, although its overall import value is lower. Singapore also saw a substantial rise of 80.21 percent, and France recorded an increase of 34.42 percent. Conversely, Hong Kong experienced the most significant decrease at 75.02 percent, followed by Indonesia at 24.98 percent and Denmark at 26.69 percent. Imports from Russia ceased entirely in April.
