Gasoline and oil production in Vietnam down 1.39 percent in December

Vietnam produced 843.10 thousand tons of gasoline and oil in December, down 1.39 percent from 855.03 thousand tons in November, according to the latest data from the National Statistics Office.

Year to date output reached 17,084.13 thousand tons by the end of December.

Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical JSC

Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical JSC (BSR) operates the Dung Quat Refinery and engages in refining crude oil and producing petroleum products.

BSR closed at VND 19,700 on Friday up 1.1 percent with 388,129,000 shares traded, worth VND 764,075 million.

Foreign ownership in BSR is currently capped at 79.1 percent, with current foreign ownership sitting at 1.9 percent.

PetroVietnam Drilling and Well Services Corporation

PetroVietnam Drilling and Well Services Corporation (PVD) provides oil drilling, engineering, and technical services for the petroleum industry.

PVD closed at VND 29,500 on Friday down 0.9 percent with 77,882,000 shares traded, worth VND 234,445 million.

Foreign ownership in PVD is currently capped at 49.0 percent, with current foreign ownership sitting at 11.0 percent.

PetroVietnam Transportation JSC

PetroVietnam Transportation JSC (PVT) operates a fleet transporting crude oil, petroleum, and chemicals across Vietnam and internationally.

PVT closed at VND 20,300 on Friday down 0.45 percent with 68,045,000 shares traded, worth VND 139,941 million.

Foreign ownership in PVT is currently capped at 49.0 percent, with current foreign ownership sitting at 10.7 percent.

Public company status mining / minerals sector

Several major oil and mineral companies, including PV GAS D, PV GAS and Vimico, said they no longer meet public company conditions due to highly concentrated ownership structures.

PV GAS D’s three largest shareholders hold 96.5 percent of equity, while PV GAS’s parent PetroVietnam owns 95.76 percent, below the minimum free float requirement under securities law.

Diesel spill Dung Quat

A diesel spill at an oil depot in the Dung Quat Economic Zone polluted rivers, canals and fields, causing mass fish deaths, local authorities said.

The leak occurred during fuel transfer on December 24 at Sub-Depot 85 of Depot 182, under the Department of Petroleum, according to officials.

About 15 hectares of rice fields and more than 3 hectares of aquaculture ponds in Van Tuong Commune were affected, threatening the winter spring rice crop.
