Vietnam’s imports of fruits and vegetables reached US$186.75 million in April 2025, according to figures released by Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. This represents a 6.28 percent decrease compared to the import value in March, with a year-to-date import value of US$791.82 million for this category.
China remains the dominant supplier despite a decrease:
China was the largest supplier of fruits and vegetables to Vietnam in April, with imports valued at US$59.49 million. This marks a 17.70 percent decrease from March but still accounts for a significant 35.82 percent of the total year-to-date imports.
USA follows as a major supplier with a decrease:
The USA was the second-largest supplier in April, with imports valued at US$42.76 million, a decrease of 15.08 percent from the previous month. The USA accounts for 25.63 percent of the year-to-date imports.
New Zealand sees a significant increase:
Imports from New Zealand experienced a substantial increase of 202.72 percent in April, reaching US$12.17 million. Their year-to-date contribution stands at 2.93 percent.
Australia experiences a slight decrease:
Imports from Australia saw a decrease of 8.30 percent in April, with a value of US$11.40 million. Australia accounts for 5.76 percent of the year-to-date imports.
Significant month-on-month increases and decreases:
Brazil experienced the largest month-on-month increase at 263.70 percent, although its overall import value is lower. India also saw a substantial rise of 67.13 percent, and Cambodia recorded an increase of 40.01 percent. Conversely, South Africa experienced the most significant decrease at 47.93 percent, followed by Chile at 45.73 percent and Israel at 43.97 percent.
