Vinhomes bond plans
Nguoi Dua Tin is reporting that Vinhomes is planning to raise up to VND 3 trillion (US$114 million) through two private bond placements.
The secured bonds comprise tranches of up to VND 1 trillion (US$38 million) and VND 2 trillion (US$76 million), each with maturities up to 24 months.
Vinhomes’ second-quarter financial expenses rose 53.8 percent to VND 5.29 trillion (US$201 million), mainly due to interest and bond issuance expenses, the article notes. View source→
Fuel prices revised
Nha Dau Tu is reporting that government-set fuel prices have been revised, with E10RON95-III gasoline falling VND 66 to VND 22,602 (US$0.86) per litre and diesel falling VND 459 to VND 28,084 (US$1.07) per litre. View source→
Counterfeit Havianas
VnExpress is reporting that Ho Chi Minh City police have seized more than 11,000 pairs of counterfeit sandals from a warehouse in Hoc Mon.
The seized goods were valued at more than VND 7.3 billion (US$277,000), based on the equivalent value of genuine products, the article says. View source→
Internet undersea cable failures
VnExpress is reporting that four undersea fibre-optic cables serving Vietnam are experiencing failures, significantly affecting the country’s international internet connectivity.
The publication notes that users may experience slower international web browsing, streaming and gaming during peak periods, although providers said domestic internet remains stable. View source→
VN-China tariff diff
WSJ is reporting that Vietnam’s trade surplus with the United States reached US$114 billion in the first half of 2026, the largest among US trading partners, and connects this to an effective US tariff rate of 6.5 percent in June, compared with 23.2 percent for Chinese imports. View source→
SK-VN joint crude stockpiling
YNA is reporting that South Korea and Vietnam have agreed to pursue long-term energy cooperation, including joint crude oil stockpiling and an emergency response mechanism.
The agreement forms part of broader talks on strengthening supply chains and economic cooperation between South Korea and Vietnam. View source→
Daewoo nuclear power VN
Seoul Economic Daily is reporting that Daewoo Engineering & Construction is seeking to participate in Vietnam’s nuclear power sector.
The company plans to partner with Vietnamese firms and establish local supply chains from the bidding stage of nuclear projects, the article notes. View source→
RBW market
Real Estate Asia is reporting that Northern Vietnam’s ready-built warehouse market recorded 145,000 square metres of net absorption in the second quarter, cutting vacancies by five percentage points to 32.7 percent, with nearly 50,000 square metres of new warehouse space entering the market.

Stock market Thursday
The VN-Index closed at 1,831.56, up 10.24 points or 0.56 percent, with a total trading value of VND 15,994.59 billion or US$607.01 million, and foreign traders net-buying US$8.05 million worth of equities, Thursday, according to the latest data from the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange.
Exchange rates Thursday
On August 27, in Vietnam, the black market US dollar buy rate was VND 25,860, and the sell rate was VND 25,890, a change of 40 and 30, respectively, for a mid-market rate of VND 25,875 (up 0.14 percent), according to prices quoted by Ty Gia USD.
