Footwear: Vietnam exports up 16.94 percent in April, USA top destination

Vietnam’s exports of footwear reached US$2.23 billion in April 2025, according to figures released by Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. This represents a substantial increase of 16.94 percent compared to March, with a year-to-date (YTD) export value of US$7.60 billion.

USA remains the top export market with significant growth:

The USA was the leading export market in April, with exports valued at US$845.98 million. This marks a significant increase of 24.30 percent from March and accounts for the largest share of the year-to-date exports at 37.09 percent.

Netherlands sees marginal growth but remains a key market:

Netherlands was the second-largest export market in April, with exports valued at US$173.08 million, a slight increase of 4.67 percent from the previous month. Netherlands accounts for 7.77 percent of the year-to-date exports.

Belgium records slight growth:

Exports to Belgium experienced an increase of 6.77 percent in April, reaching US$121.96 million. Belgium accounts for 5.09 percent of the year-to-date exports.

UK sees significant growth:

Exports to the UK rose by 12.88 percent in April, reaching US$105.51 million, contributing 4.57 percent to the year-to-date total.

Significant month-on-month increases and decreases:

Czech Republic experienced the largest month-on-month increase at 313.67 percent, followed by Norway and India. Conversely, Luxembourg experienced the most significant decrease at 61.58 percent, followed by South Korea and Taiwan.
