Vietnam’s exports of fishery products reached US$900.88 million in April 2025, according to figures released by Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. This represents a slight increase of 2.02 percent compared to March, with a year-to-date (YTD) export value of US$3.21 billion.
China becomes the top export market with significant growth:
China emerged as the leading export market in April, with exports valued at US$176.51 million, a substantial increase of 13.88 percent from March. China accounts for the largest share of the year-to-date exports at 19.95 percent.
USA sees slight growth but remains a major market:
The USA was the second-largest export market in April, with exports valued at US$161.38 million, a slight increase of 3.85 percent from the previous month. The USA accounts for 16.57 percent of the year-to-date exports.
Japan sees a marginal decrease but remains a key market:
Japan was the third-largest export market in April, with exports valued at US$133.12 million, a marginal decrease of 2.50 percent from March. Japan accounts for 15.32 percent of the year-to-date exports.
South Korea sees a slight decrease:
Exports to South Korea experienced a slight decrease of 2.63 percent in April, reaching US$66.75 million. South Korea accounts for 7.67 percent of the year-to-date exports.
Significant month-on-month increases and decreases:
Indonesia experienced the largest month-on-month increase at 270.64 percent, followed by Turkey and Algeria. Conversely, Mexico experienced the most significant decrease at 30.65 percent, followed by Brazil and Germany.
