Vietnam’s exports to the Philippines rose to US$463.38 million in July, up 9.89 percent from June, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
Year-to-date exports reached US$3.38 billion, led by rice, electronics, and machinery.
Rice dominated with US$156.24 million, a 55.27 percent increase, making up over one-third of shipments. Other key categories included machinery at US$33.66 million, phones at US$20.92 million, and computers at US$17.54 million.
Clinker and cement also grew 15.08 percent to US$16.34 million. By contrast, coffee dropped 54.94 percent to US$14.82 million, and transport parts plunged 60.54 percent to US$12.96 million.
Consumer and industrial products showed mixed trends. Textiles rose 24.26 percent, fishery exports grew 21.11 percent, and footwear advanced 16.14 percent.
Chemicals and coal also recorded double-digit growth. However, iron and steel shipments collapsed 81.86 percent, pepper exports fell 25.43 percent, and cashews declined 31.30 percent.
Vietnam’s export profile to the Philippines highlights the market’s importance as a major rice buyer, while industrial inputs like machinery and electronics sustain bilateral trade.
Agricultural categories remain volatile, contrasting with steady growth in manufactured goods.
