Electronics: Vietnam imports of cameras rise 3.4 percent in August

Vietnam imported US$234.27 million of still image, video cameras and parts in August, up 3.43 percent from July, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.

Year-to-date imports reached US$1.60 billion.

China remained the largest supplier at US$136.53 million, accounting for 55.56 percent of the total, followed by Taiwan at US$55.77 million, or 23.41 percent.

Imports from Thailand rose 20.67 percent month-on-month to US$12.54 million, while Japan sent US$5.55 million, down 11.54 percent. The US contributed US$1.42 million, an 82.27 percent increase.

The data highlights Vietnam’s continued reliance on China and Taiwan for high-tech camera components, with smaller but growing inputs from regional partners.
