Vietnam’s imports of essential oils and resinoids; perfumery, cosmetic or toilet preparations reached US$125.31 million in April 2025, according to figures released by Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. This represents a slight 2.80 percent decrease compared to the import value in March, with a year-to-date import value of US$478.05 million for this category.
Singapore is the top supplier despite a slight increase:
Singapore was the leading supplier of perfumery and cosmetic products to Vietnam in April, with imports valued at US$33.65 million. This marks an 8.61 percent increase from March and accounts for a substantial 26.10 percent of the total year-to-date imports in this category.
China remains a significant supplier with a decrease:
China was the second-largest supplier in April, with imports valued at US$18.35 million, a decrease of 5.00 percent from the previous month. China accounts for 15.80 percent of the year-to-date imports.
South Korea sees a decrease:
Imports from South Korea experienced a decrease of 8.73 percent in April, reaching US$17.75 million. Their year-to-date contribution stands at 14.48 percent.
Notable month-on-month increases and decreases:
France saw a significant increase of 41.93 percent in its exports to Vietnam in April, while Malaysia experienced a substantial rise of 73.45 percent. Conversely, Italy saw a sharp decline of 39.28 percent, and the UK experienced a decrease of 56.01 percent. The Philippines also saw a complete cessation of imports in April compared to March.
