Consumer electrical: Vietnam imports down 24.38 percent over March, Thailand lead supplier

Vietnam’s imports of electric consumer products and parts thereof reached US$238.70 million in April 2025, according to figures released by Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. This represents a significant 24.38 percent decrease compared to the import value in March, with a year-to-date import value of US$1.02 billion for this category.

Thailand is the top supplier despite a decrease:

Thailand was the leading supplier of electric consumer products to Vietnam in April, with imports valued at US$93.81 million. This marks a 30.43 percent decrease from March but accounts for a substantial 41.69 percent of the total year-to-date imports in this category.

China remains a significant supplier:

China was the second-largest supplier in April, with imports valued at US$85.85 million, a decrease of 7.22 percent from the previous month. China accounts for 32.11 percent of the year-to-date imports.

Malaysia sees a notable decrease:

Imports from Malaysia experienced a significant drop of 36.47 percent in April, reaching US$38.53 million. Their year-to-date contribution stands at 17.58 percent.

Indonesia experiences a sharp decline:

Indonesia saw a substantial decrease of 74.76 percent in its electric consumer product exports to Vietnam in April, with imports totaling US$3.26 million.
