Computers & electrical products: Vietnam exports down 4.91 percent in April, USA top destination

Vietnam’s exports of computers, electrical products, spare-parts and components thereof reached US$8.15 billion in April 2025, according to figures released by Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. This represents a decrease of 4.91 percent compared to March, although the year-to-date (YTD) export value remains substantial at US$29.26 billion.

USA remains the top export market with slight growth:

The USA was the leading export market in April, with exports valued at US$3.24 billion. This marks a slight increase of 3.10 percent from March and accounts for the largest share of the year-to-date exports at 36.62 percent.

China sees a decrease but remains a key market:

China was the second-largest export market in April, with exports valued at US$1.42 billion, a decrease of 6.94 percent from the previous month. China accounts for 17.28 percent of the year-to-date exports.

Hong Kong experiences a significant decrease:

Exports to Hong Kong saw a substantial decrease of 27.38 percent in April, falling to US$671.70 million. Hong Kong accounts for 9.32 percent of the year-to-date exports.

South Korea sees a slight decrease but remains a major market:

Exports to South Korea experienced a marginal decrease of 2.35 percent in April, reaching US$664.97 million. South Korea accounts for 9.03 percent of the year-to-date exports.

Significant month-on-month increases and decreases:

Chile experienced the largest month-on-month increase at 85.87 percent, followed by Colombia and Indonesia. Conversely, Thailand experienced the most significant decrease at 64.91 percent, followed by Italy and Armenia.
