Vietnam’s yarn imports increase by 1.77 percent in December

Vietnam imported US$238.31 million worth of yarn in December 2024, reflecting a 1.77 percent increase compared to November, according to data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. Year-to-date imports reached US$2.71 billion.

China remained the largest supplier, contributing US$162.48 million, a 5.28 percent increase from November. India and South Korea also posted growth, with imports rising by 7.47 percent and 14.35 percent, respectively. Bangladesh showed the highest growth rate, with imports increasing by 24.84 percent to US$302,536.

Conversely, imports from Austria and the Netherlands saw sharp declines of 40.79 percent and 88.07 percent, respectively. Taiwan, Thailand, and Japan also recorded decreases of 6.32 percent, 10.40 percent, and 8.29 percent, respectively.
