Vietnam’s wood and wooden product imports increased by 5.56 percent month-on-month in February, reaching US$208.53 million, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. This follows January’s total of US$197.54 million, bringing year-to-date imports to US$405.92 million.
China remained Vietnam’s top supplier, contributing US$79.45 million, despite a 15.30 percent decline. The USA followed with US$26.32 million, marking a 4.69 percent increase. Imports from France saw a notable 70.17 percent surge to US$9.28 million, while Russia recorded the most dramatic rise, soaring 786.31 percent to US$3.04 million. In contrast, imports from Italy dropped by 50.44 percent to US$1.37 million.
Vietnam’s wood import trends indicate a mix of rising demand and shifting supplier dynamics, particularly with significant fluctuations across key trading partners.
