Vietnam imported US$257.34 million worth of wood and wooden products in December 2024, an 11.40 percent increase compared to November, according to data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. Year-to-date imports reached US$2.75 billion.
China remained the largest supplier, exporting US$117.37 million in December, a 13.66 percent increase month-on-month. Laos and France showed notable growth, with imports rising 36.48 percent and 46.05 percent, respectively. Imports from Congo nearly doubled, surging 96.14 percent to US$6.15 million. Brazil and New Zealand also recorded significant increases of 38.44 percent and 24.06 percent, respectively.
In contrast, imports from Chile declined sharply by 42.93 percent. Other suppliers, including Thailand and the USA, showed modest increases of 2.82 percent and 0.04 percent, respectively.
