Vietnam’s wheat imports rose sharply by 77 percent month-on-month in February, reaching US$190.13 million, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. This significant increase follows January’s total of US$107.42 million, bringing year-to-date imports to US$297.57 million.
Brazil was the largest supplier, accounting for 44.94 percent of total imports at US$85.45 million, marking a 57.43 percent rise. Australia followed with US$35.09 million, more than doubling its exports to Vietnam with a 103.94 percent increase. Ukraine saw the most dramatic surge, with imports soaring by 1,440.89 percent to US$18.01 million. Meanwhile, imports from Canada plummeted by 93.91 percent to just US$1.01 million.
Vietnam’s wheat imports continue to fluctuate, reflecting shifting trade dynamics and supplier availability.
