Large caps led the decline, with the VN30 down 2.07 percent to 1,885.36 and VN100 losing 2.03 percent.
The VNALLSHARE and VNXALLSHARE both slipped nearly 2 percent, reflecting broad market weakness.
Real estate dropped the most, with the VNREAL index down 4.65 percent, while industrials and financials fell 2.59 and 1.72 percent, respectively.
Energy, IT, and healthcare were among few gainers, rising 2.87, 1.07, and 1.76 percent.

Most traded
VIX was the most actively traded stock on 31 October 2025, with 477.2 million shares changing hands and a turnover of VND 1.37 trillion or about US$52.5 million, closing down 4.44 percent at VND 28,000.
SHB followed with 474 million shares traded, falling 2.66 percent to VND 16,450, while GEX slid 6.97 percent to VND 44,050 on a value of VND 1.25 trillion or US$48.2 million.
SSI eased 1.58 percent to VND 34,300 with VND 928 billion or US$35.6 million traded.
KHG rose 3.66 percent to VND 8,500, generating turnover of VND 210 billion or US$8.1 million.

Foreign trading
Foreign investors recorded a net sell of VND 461 billion or about US$17.5 million on 31 October 2025.
Total buying reached VND 2.99 trillion or US$113.36 million, while selling amounted to VND 3.45 trillion or US$130.85 million.
Year-to-date, foreign investors have sold a net total of around US$4.59 billion, reflecting continued outflows from Vietnamese equities amid broader market volatility.

Vietnam stocks most bought by foreign traders
VIX topped foreign investor purchases with 6.43 million shares bought and a net inflow of 3.81 million shares, closing down 3.45 percent at VND 28,000.
KDH followed with 4.26 million shares bought and a net inflow of 2.27 million shares, rising 0.99 percent to VND 35,850.
VND Securities saw net buying of 2.21 million shares, edging up 0.25 percent to VND 20,050.
GEX recorded net purchases of 1.12 million shares despite falling 6.28 percent to VND 44,050, while VRE attracted 452,830 net shares bought, closing 2.35 percent lower at VND 33,300.

Vietnam stocks most sold by foreign traders
MBB led foreign selling with 5.87 million shares offloaded and a net outflow of 4.86 million shares, slipping 0.84 percent to VND 23,600.
HPG followed with 5.41 million shares sold and a net outflow of 4.02 million shares, down 0.74 percent at VND 26,700.
SSI saw a net sell of 1.35 million shares, easing 1.29 percent to VND 34,300, while VCG lost 2.80 percent to VND 26,050 after a net sell of 1.99 million shares.
VRE remained the only counter among top trades to record slight net buying by foreign investors.
