Vietnam’s exports of textile, leather, and footwear materials reached US$185.89 million in November, down 8.1 percent compared to October, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. Year-to-date exports in this category stood at US$2.04 billion, underlining the sector’s significant contribution to the nation’s economy despite recent declines.
Indonesia was the largest market, importing US$31.86 million of these materials, representing a modest decrease of 2.79 percent. Cambodia followed closely with US$31.76 million, down 9.23 percent, while China imported US$18.12 million, marking a 6.53 percent drop. In contrast, the US saw a slight growth of 5.77 percent to US$15.99 million, highlighting a potential area of resilience.
This sector’s performance reflects both the challenges and opportunities in adapting to shifting global demand for textile-related exports.
