Vietnam’s exports of textile, leather, and footwear materials fell 2.33 percent month-on-month to US$189.23 million in January, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
Cambodia and Indonesia were the largest importers, accounting for a combined 36.67 percent of total exports. Shipments to Cambodia rose 10.33 percent to US$35.06 million, while exports to Indonesia increased 4.97 percent to US$34.32 million.
Meanwhile, exports to the USA and China declined by 6.19 percent and 31.95 percent, respectively. The USA imported US$15.96 million worth of goods, while China’s total dropped to US$14.15 million. In contrast, Argentina’s imports surged 367.37 percent to US$4.60 million, and Hong Kong recorded a notable 46.14 percent increase to US$4.61 million.
Other significant markets included Japan, where exports rose 9.23 percent to US$11.99 million, and Finland, which saw a 20.80 percent increase to US$1.36 million. Despite the overall decline, some smaller markets posted strong growth.
