Vietnam’s textile, leather, and footwear material imports rise 7.72 percent in February 2025

Vietnam’s imports of textile, leather, and footwear materials increased by 7.72 percent month-on-month in February, reaching US$528.77 million, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. This follows January’s total of US$490.89 million, bringing year-to-date imports to over US$1.01 billion.

China remained the dominant supplier, accounting for 48.83 percent of total imports at US$258.20 million, despite a 15.07 percent decline. The USA saw a strong increase of 54.82 percent, reaching US$41.59 million, while South Korea and Taiwan posted gains of 36.23 percent and 40.06 percent, respectively. Italy recorded the highest surge, nearly doubling its exports to Vietnam with a 99.81 percent rise to US$21.72 million.

Vietnam’s demand for textile and footwear materials remains strong, with notable growth from key suppliers outside China.
