Vietnam’s still image and video camera exports decline in November

Vietnam exported still image and video cameras worth US$585.29 million in November, marking a decline of 17.26 percent month-on-month, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. This drop highlights shifting global demand and market challenges within this sector.

Year-on-year data paints a clearer picture of Vietnam’s standing in the global market. While exports to key markets like China remain robust at a year-to-date total of over US$4.25 billion, other markets reflect diverse trends.

Also of note, exports to Canada saw an impressive 126.53 percent increase month-on-month, while the US experienced a sharp decline of 28.01 percent.

This mixed performance underscores the industry’s reliance on key trading partners and its sensitivity to changing global demands. South Korea and Germany showed moderate growth in demand, while significant drops in Hong Kong’s market weakened overall performance.

Vietnam’s imaging and video equipment sector remains vital to its export economy, leveraging a growing base of markets despite these fluctuations. The year-to-date total exports of this category reached US$7.44 billion, reflecting its continued significance.
