Vietnam’s rubber exports recorded substantial growth in October 2024, with volumes reaching 224,958 tonnes and a value of US$429.01 million, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. This represents a 16 percent increase in volume and a significant 27.8 percent rise in value compared to September, which recorded 193,957 tonnes and US$335.56 million.
Year-to-date performance highlights mixed results. From January to October, Vietnam exported 1.54 million tonnes of rubber, a 4.9 percent decrease in volume compared to the same period in 2023. However, export value increased by 16.4 percent, reaching US$2.53 billion, reflecting higher global rubber prices.
The October surge underscores strong demand for Vietnamese rubber, while the year-to-date value growth demonstrates the sector’s resilience amidst volume challenges. Vietnam remains a competitive player in the global rubber market, leveraging favourable pricing and consistent quality.
