Vietnam’s plastics imports rose 3 percent in March

Vietnam imported US$1.09 billion worth of plastics in March, up 3.01 percent from February, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. Total year-to-date imports reached US$3.02 billion.

China remained the leading supplier, accounting for US$336.93 million or over 28 percent of total imports, up 28.95 percent month-on-month. Japan and Germany also saw notable increases, with imports rising 16.17 percent and 31.70 percent respectively. In contrast, imports from South Korea fell 14.49 percent, while shipments from Saudi Arabia, the USA, and the UAE also declined.
