Vietnam’s plastic product imports jumped 25 percent in March

Vietnam imported US$856.79 million worth of plastic products in March, a 25 percent increase from February, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. The total import value for the first three months reached US$2.22 billion.

China remained the dominant supplier, accounting for nearly 60 percent of the total with US$530.02 million in shipments, up 46.77 percent month-on-month. Imports from the USA rose 39.37 percent to US$20.84 million, and Singapore saw a 61.45 percent surge. In contrast, South Korea, Japan, and Taiwan posted slight declines, while Germany dropped nearly 20 percent.
