Vietnam’s plastic imports rose to US$1.03 billion in November, reflecting a 2.1 percent increase month-on-month, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. Year-to-date imports reached US$10.6 billion.
China remained the top supplier, with imports rising 17.51 percent to US$310.97 million. Taiwan saw notable growth of 22.78 percent, while imports from the UAE surged 38.65 percent. Conversely, Saudi Arabia experienced a sharp decline of 14.03 percent, and Malaysia dropped 13.38 percent.
The data underscores China’s dominance in Vietnam’s plastic supply chain, with growing contributions from Taiwan and the UAE. Meanwhile, declines from traditional suppliers may highlight shifting trade patterns.
