Vietnam exported US$224.52 million worth of plastics in March 2025, up 8.88 percent month-on-month, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
This brought year-to-date exports to US$594.01 million. China was the top driver of growth, with Vietnamese plastic exports jumping 47.87 percent month-on-month to US$22.39 million. Italy and India also saw notable increases, while shipments to Indonesia, Japan, and several Southeast Asian markets declined.
Although ‘Other’ markets accounted for 30.65 percent of year-to-date trade, regional diversity in plastic exports remains limited, with just five countries taking over 45 percent of the total.
