Vietnam’s petroleum product exports surge in October, year-to-date figures show steady growth

Vietnam’s exports of petroleum products saw a substantial increase in October 2024, with volumes reaching 228,707 tonnes and a value of US$170.81 million, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. This represents a 52.4 percent rise in volume and a 43.8 percent increase in value compared to September, which recorded 150,048 tonnes and US$118.81 million.

Year-to-date performance also reflects positive growth. From January to October, Vietnam exported 1.99 million tonnes of petroleum products, valued at US$1.61 billion. This marks an 8.6 percent increase in volume and a 3.7 percent rise in value compared to the same period in 2023.

The October surge indicates robust international demand, while the year-to-date growth highlights Vietnam’s steady role in the petroleum product market. The sector’s resilience and capacity for expansion position it as a vital contributor to the country’s export economy.
